Our History
In 1993, Lou Hill and Frank Memmo started building HTML web sites for fun. In case you don't remember, the Internet was brand new and majority text based; images were a new concept at
this time. Frank and Lou met via mutual friends in 1995, in Bel Air. Aside from having many common interests, they shared a passion for cutting edge technologies on the Internet. Lou
secured a job at national health and fitness franchise and was very instrumental with getting their membership process online. Frank worked in the utility industry focusing on emerging
technologies with GPS and GIS, and combining these technologies with an online "call center". Over the years, the two managed to stay in touch and they colaborated on a few projects.
In early 2000, an opportunity presented itself to Frank and Lou to partner up with a New York based investor. Despite this relationship lasting 3-months, it inspired them
to start THUD. The two setup shop in colorful and historic Fell's Point on "the square". For nearly 2 years, they called this home. With both of them commuting from central Harford County,
they realized they needed something a little closer to home and chose Towson. The next 3 years, THUD went into cruise control and grew solely upon word of mouth advertising. The two partners
evaluated the situation and decided to bring the business to Harford County and landed on Main Street in Bel Air. Since 2005 the two have called this place their home and have staffed up with
developers, designers and a marketing director.
